We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Research fellow / Senior Research Assistant
We are seeking an experienced healthcare professional (Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Nurse) with previous research experience, as well as proven organisational skills and preferably some experience of working with people with Parkinson’s disease to work on the PDSAFE study. Funded by the NIHR HTA programme, the PDSAFE study is a randomised controlled trial looking at the effect of exercises and strategies on reducing falls in people with Parkinson’s disease. The post-holder will worker closely with the Trial Manager (Dr Kim Seymour) and the Chief Investigator (Professor Ann Ashburn) and will gain experience in measurement techniques and research principles and be responsible for the home assessments of trial participants across the South (Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Poole).
The post is full-time (part-time considered), fixed-term appointment available immediately for twelve months. The job will include recruitment of participants, obtaining consent, gathering data (movement assessments as per protocol including questionnaires), initial data analysis, preparation of reports and liaison with other team members, participants, and staff. The role involves travel to participants’ homes; travel expenses will be covered but access to a car is essential.
